How do I add a picture to my website?

Click to view the video tutorial!

If you'd like to add a picture to your website, first you need to make sure you have the picture resized to the correct size. If you use a photo that is too large, it can break your website! Different areas of your website can accommodate different sizes. If you are unsure the size the photo needs to be, contact your webmaster. DO NOT UPLOAD A PHOTO THAT IS TOO LARGE!

Once you are ready to add the correctly-sized photo to your website, the next step is to upload the file to the server. Do this by clicking on the UPLOAD link. Select the destination on your website where the photo should be stored. It should be appropriately named such as "Images" or "Photos Go Here." Next, click BROWSE to find the correctly-sized image on your computer. Then click OK. You have now uploaded the image. The next step is to add the image to the web page. Place your cursor where you'd like the image to go. Then click on the button that looks like a tree to insert the image. To the right of the Image URL blank, click on the button to browse to the place on your website where your images are stored. It should be named "images" or "i" or something similar. Select the image you want. Then click OK (you may need to scroll down to see the "OK" link if you've selected a tall image). On the next screen, there is a blank to insert a description of the photo. Adding a brief description is good for search engines and it helps with the usability of your website, especially for people with disabilities. Click Insert.
